This authentic piece of Jamaican Naive Art by renowned folk artist Headley Thompson captures the vibrant energy of Caribbean culture. Dated August 1976, this signed original depicts a lively scene of dancers and a drummer in Thompsons signature style, featuring bold silhouettes and rich tropical colors. At 50 years old, this work is a significant piece of West Indies art history, marked J.W.I. for Jamaica, West Indies.

The composition includes four dancers surrounding a central musician with traditional instruments like maracas and a bamboo guiro at their feet. A perfect addition for collectors of Caribbean art or those seeking a unique vintage statement piece. Signed clearly in the lower left. The artwork itself remains strikingly vibrant. Housed in its original era-appropriate yellow frame with a red mat, it offers a true mid-century aesthetic for your home or gallery. Measures 12" x 15" framed.

Item condition: Good vintage condition with vibrant colors and minor age-toning. The simple yellow wooden frame shows some scuffs and paint loss consistent with age. The paper dust cover on the back is brittle and torn, which does not affect the front display but may require replacement for preservation.
