This captivating 1974 original by artist Melanie Wesley perfectly captures the mid-century coastal aesthetic. Featuring a serene shoreline with seagulls and sweeping sand dunes, the piece is executed in a heavily textured impasto style typical of the 1970s. The artwork is housed in its original, statement-making frame: a deeply grooved, dark brown wood with a rustic "bark-like" texture that adds significant tactile and organic interest.
Hand-signed and dated via inscription on the reverse, this painting is a quintessential piece of vintage decor. Its large scale (approx. 24.25" x 20.25") makes it an ideal focal point for a coastal, bohemian, or eclectic interior. A rare find for collectors of 70s oils and unique period framing.
Item condition: Excellent vintage condition. The artwork itself is pristine with vibrant texture and no cracking. The original wood frame shows minor scuffs on the back consistent with age, which do not affect the front display.
